Investigating the Story

Have you ever been stuck telling negative stories about your life? Maybe the story doesn’t end as negatively as you’ve been telling it. Luke writes about some people traveling to Emmaus who encounter the risen Jesus. They are shocked that Jesus doesn’t already know why they’re sad. They tell Jesus all about the sad news of Jesus’ crucifixion. What they didn’t realize is that they were standing in front of good news, but they just couldn’t see it yet.

This Easter, we begin a series investigating the stories we notice and share. We’re reading from Luke 24, paying attention to the news that the early church shared about Easter. The good news changed their world, and can change ours too.
