How to be a Main Character

Can people change? Even if we’re hopeful about our own ability to grow and change, most of us are skeptical about whether our enemies can ever change. In Acts 9, Luke tells the story of Ananias who was called to support Saul’s transformation despite the fact that Saul had intended harm to people like Ananias. Join us as we reflect on the hope that people can change for the better.

Series: Empowered Have you ever felt powerless? Have news stories about the problems of the world disheartened you because there doesn’t seem to be anything you can do about it? Powerless is not how God describes us or created us.

Jesus told his disciples that God would give us power and then the disciples lives were forever changed. Exploring stories of power in the book of Acts, we’ll describe how God wants to empower you to be a changemaker in the world today.

The Divine Embrace

We’re often afraid to try and restore broken relationships with our coworkers, neighbors, friends, and family. When we avoid our broken relationships, we also avoid glimpses at the divine embrace, where God brings healing and hope. This week, we read about the moment Esau and Jacob meet each other 20 years after their relationship was broken by deception. Join us as we listen for how God calls us to the transformative work of reconciliation.

Transformation and Time Apart

The Point of No Return

There are pivotal moments that shape a relationship for better or worse. In Genesis 27, Jacob’s deception fractured his relationship with his brother and changed the the next two decades of their lives.

We’ve Got History

Today's sermon is the start of a new sermon series, “Sibling Rivalry.” In a world of broken and dysfunctional relationships, we look to Esau and Jacob for understanding how problems emerge and for what seeing God in the midst reconciliation can look like.
