We are now collecting new back-to-school items!
FBC is again partnering with the Jackson Child Care Center to
provide back-to-school supplies for the children at the AWARE
shelter. Please bring your items and place them in the box in the
main hallway or leave them at the church office. We will be
collecting items through Aug. 22. Missions "Mission" is a wide-ranging concept. It implies all the varied work we undertake as individuals, churches and organizations in applying our faith and in sharing the Gospel message with others. Mission is an awesome invitation and responsibility, and an endeavor that can never be exhausted. We undertake it realizing that only with God's help can the immense task of Christian mission be accomplished. First Baptist supports, through participation and monetary giving, those activities that address human needs of our community in conjunction with other local churches. A few ways to be involved in mission work include the following: Local Level Serving meals at the Jackson Interfaith Shelter throughout the year Collecting school supplies for the AWARE Shelter each fall Ongoing financial support to both above Preparing Christmas Baskets for families in Jackson County
World-Wide Operation Christmas Child - Shoeboxes are collected and filled with candy, toys, clothing, etc., throughout the year and then shipped overseas to children in other countries. In addition, through its affiliation with American Baptist Churches, First Baptist supports many other missions on a state, national and world level.
