Leadership Structure

Edna Haris, Music Director/Organist

Edna joined First Baptist as Music Director/Organist in January 2007. Her duties at First Baptist include directing the chancel choir and the adult handbell choir, as well as playing organ and piano for worship service. She enjoys accompanying and working with all types of musical groups. Her goal is to help develop the musical abilities of those who attend First Baptist. Happily married for 50 years to Ron, they have 3 grown children and 6 grandchildren. In her spare time Edna enjoys biking, swimming, and walking.

Kathy Alexander, Secretary

Kathy joined with FBC in July 2004 with 15 years' secretarial
experience and a background in proofreading and desktop publishing. Happily married, she enjoys gardening, crocheting, reading and volunteering in a variety of ways. Kathy hopes to utilize her typing, organizational and problem-solving skills to make a difference in the lives of people - both locally and outside of Jackson.

Church Leaders

The various Boards are as follows:

Deacons: responsible for the spiritual aspects of the church. Specifically, the worship service, the music program, and the missions of the church.

Trustees: responsible for the finances of the church as well as the maintenance of the church property.

Christian Education: responsible for the Christian Education Program.

In addition, there are five committees: Hospitality, Staff Relations, Nominating, Stewardship, and Endowment.
