Pastor Church Staff Leadership Structure

Our Pastor Rev. Gretchen C. Sanewsky, Pastor Rev. Gretchen Sanewsky began as Pastor of First Baptist Church in 2002.  She holds a B.S. in Human Development and Family Studies from Cornell University and a M.Div. from The Eastern Baptist Theological Seminary.  Pastor Gretchen has 15 years of Pastoral Ministry experience, most of which were spent in New York State as Pastor of American Baptist and Presbyterian USA Churches, and as a hospital and nursing home Chaplain.  She also served as Volunteer Missionary to the Democratic Republic of Congo.  Her gifts are in pastoral care and counseling, worship and preaching, envisioning, and mission.  Pastor Gretchen is married to Bill Rowland, also an ordained American Baptist Minister.  Bill is the Church Administrator at First United Methodist Church, Jackson.  He is the owner of Earthen Vessel Financial,  providing stewardship education, financial planning and investment advice to churches.  They have three children.

Church Leaders The Spiritual Life Team is responsible for the spiritual welfare of the church including the worship service, the music program, and the missions program. The Administrative Team is responsible for all funds of the church and all property of the church. The Christian Education Team is responsible for the Christian Education. In addition, there are five committees: Hospitality, Staff Relations, Nominating, Stewardship, and Endowment.
