Youth Group Scavenger
Hunt - December 2009
The Youth Group joined with the First United Methodist
and St. Paul's Episcopal youth groups to go on a Scavenger
Hunt in December. The teens were divided into teams and
points awarded for items collected. They weren't able to
purchase anything, and weren't able to ask family for
donations. These kids brought in an amazing amount of great
stuff such as diapers, food, clothing, and toys. All items
were donated to the Salvation Army. See the "Pictures" tab
for a snapshot of the fun they had!

Youth Group Mission
Trip - Summer 2009!!! The Youth Group
are back from an awesome Mission Trip to the Red Lake Indian Reservation in Red Lake,
Minn. Here is what the YouthWorks! website says about the
mission trip:
“We focus on two primary areas of ministry: children and
home improvement. Our work with children consists of a
hands-on program led by your youth, known as Kids Club. Kids
Club offers high-energy games, crafts, skits, songs and
interactive lessons all designed to help kids learn about
Jesus. Also during the week, your group will have the
opportunity to do home improvement. Your group’s willingness
to refresh a worn out exterior of a house with a new coat of
paint brings real hope and an opportunity to share the love
of Christ.”

Summer 2006 Mission trip to Athens, Ohio
The youth raised enough to fully fund their mission
trip this summer! Way to go !!!What an awesome
experience!
Nearly 20 adults and youth traveled to Athens, Ohio
to volunteer their time and talents with "Good Works"
missions. They participated in a variety of activities
including: home repairs, yard maintenance, cutting
down trees and splitting wood, building benches and a bike
shelter, visiting with residents at the Timothy House, and
preparing and serving food to about 80 people. It was a lot
of hard work, but there was also time for fun, as you can
see in the photo below and on the "pictures page." Everyone came back from the mission
trip a little sore and tired, but with the feeling that they
had done God's work and also gotten to know each other on a
more personal level. |
